Shadow

Welcome our newest family member. This is our little buck - Shadow. He is intact and when he gets bigger we will breed him to Gertrude. He is a Nigerian Dwarf Goat. He is just over two months old and has a lot of growing to do. 

He is such a cutie and follows me everywhere - he is a little Shadow! 

We kept him away from the other animals for the first few days to make sure he was nice and healthy and had adapted to his knew home. Now you can see his first chance at meeting everyone!

For now, we are keeping him separate from the bigger goats since they like to head butt and he isn't big enough for it!

We introduced him to the girls.

We introduced him to the ducks.

He wanted nothing to do with the dog.

 He had an interesting time getting to know Cowboy the kitty

 Who knew? A goat and a cat.

But the most important introduction was...... meeting his future herd mates!

He was nervous at first, but quickly went in for the first sniff!

He is a brave boy and ready to be friends with our little herd. Spartan and Gertrude are not so accepting. Legolas has done fine being gentle but the other two keep trying to head butt him and I am a bit nervous since he is still so small. They are having little supervised play dates until I can trust them.
