Buff Orpington's Progress

Introduction

We have five Buff Orpingtons. They are very sweet and easy to handle.

About the Breed 

These girls are the typical "mother hens". They are big and have poofy feathers. They are sweet and inquisitive. They are also really great with kids and other animals.

Origin: Orpington, England
Size: Cock - 10 pounds Hen- 8.5 pounds
Recognized colors: Buff, Black, Blue, White
General Appearance: Large with small head and a lot of feathering, Single comb, Curvy shape with a short back and U-shaped underline
Egg Production: They do not stop breeding in the winter. They lay 175-200 eggs per year that are brown in color.
Breeding: Very broody, great mothers

June 3rd Update:

 We found awesome families for 3 of our girl and we are down to just two Buff Orpingtons now - Bromley (after London Borough of Bromley)  and Mara (Marahute). Today we decided to take comparison pictures to see differences between our chickens.
